Another perfect holiday at Saint Basil’s Olive Grove.
Our second visit to Saint Basil’s and we’ll definitely be back again. It is perfect for families but also idyllic as a couple. Perfect location , peaceful and private with glorious views and yet within easy 5 minute drive of Almyrida and all that offers. The surrounding area will take us years to explore! Monica’s Taverna at Gavalochori within walking distance is a highlight for us. Thank you Tina & John for welcoming us back! What superb hosts you are! Nothing was too much trouble. See you again soon!

Another great stay in Helios
This has been our 6th stay and it is always great.Love the setting in olive groves the views of the mountains and the pool. The villa has everything you need. The decor is lovely and the beds are very comfortable. Helios is in a good place for exploring the area with many good eateries nearby.

Fabulous stay in Almyrida
Fantastic villa, spotlessly clean. Fabulous pool and outdoor space. Excellent location for exploring Crete. Hosts were extremely helpful with recommendations for day trips and restaurants.

Beautiful, well-maintained villa. Lovely spot. Perfect for a family or a group of friends.
Well presented and maintained. Very comfortable in the heat of late July. Hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. Excellent spot- so handy for everything and yet secluded and private. Kids rarely out of the pool if we weren’t out and about. Watching the sunset from one of the balconies was heavenly. Swimming in the private pool as the sun came up over the hills equally so. Nearby Almyrida is lovely, friendly and low key with a great range of tavernas and restaurants. Bus to Chania and back was very easy- definitely worth it.

A spacious villa and wonderful pool
Villa Angelos is our favourite villa and we have stayed before. The villa is spacious with 4 bedrooms and a good sized pool. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking equipment and dishes etc. There is a dishwasher too. The television has viewing options for watching films and we are able to access our Netflix account. The villa's location is excellent near to the beach, bars and a good choice of restaurants in Almyrida with the wonderful restaurant. Monicas, nearby in Gavlahori. Chania can be accessed by car or bus and is not too far away. .However, the villa is away from the bustle of Almyrida village and is peaceful with lovely mountain views and a distant sea view from the from balcony. A great place to sit with a glass wine in the evening. The covered terrace is spacious with a table and chairs that are perfect for outside eating and provides shade during the day. The pool is kept in pristine order and is a good depth with walk in steps. The pool terrace has loungers and sunshades and is a good place to relax. Thank you to John and Tina for yet another wonderful stay. We will be back next year. We just cannot resist the peace and the pool!

Fantastic!
Our 4th stay and it was as amazing as always. The villas are well equipped and beautifully clean and Tina and John are great hosts, with plenty of suggestions of places to visit, nice restaurants etc. Almyrida itself is a lovely place, great beach with water sports, nice shops, good tavernas and ideally located for exploring this end of the island. No hesitation in giving a 5* review and we can’t wait to come back next year.

Impressive residence!
Marcus and Tina provided us with an exceptional experience, conveniently located only 45 minutes from the heart of Chania. Their assistance and hospitality were truly commendable. The property greatly appealed to us, being remarkably tranquil, immaculately clean, and well-appointed. However, the only minor drawback was our endeavor to locate a public waste disposal facility, which prompted us to deposit our refuse in the neighboring village, causing slight inconvenience to some locals. Nevertheless, overall, our stay was highly enjoyable and satisfying.

Tastefully decorated
The villa had everything you could want and was very comfortable. The pool and outside area were so beautiful, clean and peaceful. Our hosts John and Tina had some great recommendations for local restaurants, and even dropped by with some walking books. We particularly loved the 15 minute walk through the hills to the village of Gavalochori to Monica's Restaurant and Arismari. We were so happy with Villa Asteria, loved our stay and would love to return. I would definitely recommend.

Villa Asteria is a great base for a holiday near Almyrida
It is an easy drive to the beachfront and restaurants, plus it is in walking distance of Gavalohori - home to Moncia's excellent taverna and a cute little museum. Views from the villa we lovely and it generally felt quite peaceful with little noise from the road or surrounding villas, apart from the daily march of goats. Our children enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the spacious terrace for a game of bat and ball.

A great base to explore Crete from
This is a delightful villa situated in the hills above the resort of Almyrida. It is comfortable with all amenities we could need. The pool is superb, clean and clear and a perfect temperature. The host could not have been more helpful and was responsive to all contacts we made. We were a couple but this would easily have been fine for 4 or 6 persons. It is well located for exploring Crete.

Tolle Unterkunft
Obwohl der Übergabezeitpunkt 17:00 war, hat uns John bereits mittags mitgeteilt, dass wir bereits das Haus übernehmen können. Die Schlüsselübergabe lief sehr einfach und perfekt. Der Pool war wundervoll. Jederzeit weiter zu empfehlen

Peaceful with great views
We miss the view of the white mountains whilst drinking my morning coffee! It was a beautiful view. My lads miss cooling off in the large pool! The sun beds were good quality and spot on for soaking up the rays. The villa was peaceful with just the sounds of crickets. John was really helpful at all times and very easy to get hold of. We were unsure whether we would be able to fly but John was really kind and understanding. When we arrived Tina greeted us from a safe distance to make sure everything was OK. We had a small problem with the light but John sorted straight away. Marcus from the UK also gave us helpful hints such as local coves to visit for snorkelling and boat trips to go on. John and Tina ensured the safety measures were top notch. All staff in the local town wore masks and so did the majority of tourists when in shops (not required for bars) and we had no concerns. We were given a 10% voucher for 2 restaurants by John and Tina - one in the village which was authentic and one with an amazing view of the sea and both were great - highly recommended. The layout suited as a family of 4 with older teens. The villa was decorated in a rustic/seaside theme and it looked pretty. The heavy shutters protected it from the sun in the day and made it very safe. At night the aircon and the fans made sleeping easier in the heat. Beds were comfy. We had a few meals and BBQ at the villa and had everything we needed. The DVD came in handy for late night viewing, I brought DVDs from home ... The villa is a short drive away from the local village and the beach. Parking by the sea was not a problem during our visit. We did walk to the village one day but drove on the evening as very dark ... The local area had a few coves which were azure blue, they were perfect for snorkelling. The roads were quite narrow but we got around without a problem. I wouldn't get a tiny engine if there are a few of you as the roads are steep in places. John's instruction from the airport were really accurate. We also visited a local lake which was picture perfect - our lads enjoyed diving off the pedalos for hire. In short I wish we were there now!

Villa Asteria-highly recommended
Accurate description of the villa: Efficient communication and helpful advice before and after booking. The villa was excellent; well maintained in a good location within walking distance of Gavalochori while the setting in a quiet olive grove with views of the white mountains was impressive. Ideal villa for families with children, particularly as the swimming pool is gated.

Wonderful Villa
Beautiful spot in great setting, has a rustic authentic Cretan atmosphere. British plumbing, big pool. My family and I had a wonderful holiday at Villa Selene. We would love to thank the owners and hope to visit again! Highly recommend.

Great villa and child friendly pool area, in a really quiet location
Villa and surrounding areas all well maintained, clean and met our expectations. Owner (John) met us upon arrival and ensured that everything was as we expected and gave us some tips on things to do to make our stay comfortable. Note that you do have to do your own 'bug' removal activity from the pool every morning (but all part of the charm of having access to your own space! Incorporation of 'English' plumbing was a nice touch. Villa is in a great location for visiting this part of the island, although we didn't travel too far as had decided (last minute) to take our grand-daughter with us, so child friendly beaches were more on the 'go to' list. Local beach served us well in this aspect as the far right-hand side hand a very shallow area that she loved. You really do need to have a car, and we found the owners recommendation of rental company 'spot on' for price and service. Thanks John and team for ensuring that we had a great holiday
